What is a laser??
The word laser is an acronym for Light Amplification through Stimulated
Emission of Radiation. A laser emits a focused beam of high-energy
light, which targets a specific colour.
How does the laser stop hair
growth and how many treatments may I need??
Melanin is the compound that gives hair it’s pigment. Our
hair removal laser specifically targets this melanin in
hairs. Hair growth moves through three stages: Anagenic
(active), Catagenic (intermediate), and Telogenic (resting). It is
during the active “anagenic” phase, that hair can
be destroyed due to it’s in tact hair bulb and presence of
melanin. We expect that approximately 10%-20% of these active hairs
will be completely destroyed at each treatment. It is
important to note that not all hair is in this phase at the same time,
and therefore multiple treatments are need to achieve results. Ideally,
most people will respond well in approximately six to ten treatments,
although results vary.
